Becoming a Coach
All Sioux Falls Fireworks coaches are certified by Special Olympics of South Dakota. Head Coaches must be a Level 2 coach. All new assistant coaches must be certified level 1 or higher.
In order to become a level 1 coach, there are 2 parts:
Step 1 – Become a Class A Volunteer
- Complete Form D and email to forms@sosiouxfalls.org.
- Complete Protective Behaviors Training
- Review and agree to abide by the Coaches Code of Conduct.
- Review and agree to abide by the Coaches Code of Conduct.
- Watch the General Orientation video on the SOSD website.
- Complete the General Orientation quiz, and email to forms@sosiouxfalls.org.
- Complete Application for Coaches Certification Training, and email to forms@sosiouxfalls.org.
- Complete Concussions in Sports Course on nfhslearn.com.
- Concussions in Sports is a free course
- You will be required to register a free account with nfhslearn.com
- Once complete, please email the completion certificate to forms@sosiouxfalls.org
